Frolic is an advanced portable vaporizer for inhalation of herbs and plant material, designed by Serbian company Limelight Herb. Beneath its compact housing is a 120-watt stainless steel heating element, which reaches the set temperature in approximately 5 seconds. The housing is made of CNC-milled PEEK and Ultem (PEI) materials – materials used in the aviation and medical industries – which means the device remains cool during use and does not release any substances into the vapor path. The 21700 battery can be replaced without tools, and the modular construction means that every component is available as a spare part.
Frolic Vaporizer – Powerful hybrid heating system with convection dominance
The heart of the device is a 120-watt stainless steel heating element operating in a hybrid configuration: hot air flows through the chamber by convection, and the walls of the anodized aluminum chamber transfer heat conductively. This division ensures uniform extraction without the need to mix the material during the session.
The heater’s power is sufficient to maintain stable temperature regardless of how hard you draw – even with full air flow opening (25 l/min) there is no temperature drop. Temperature can be regulated with accuracy to 1°C across the entire range from 40 to 220°C for session mode. In the case of on-demand mode, we have a wider range at our disposal – from 40 to 240°C.
Frolic Vaporizer – vapor path entirely from PEEK material
The vapor path of the Frolic vaporizer is entirely milled on a CNC machine from PEEK material used in medical implants, surgical instruments and the food industry. PEEK meets FDA standard 21 CFR 177.2415, is chemically inert at the device’s operating temperatures and does not emit any unwanted substances. This material is much more resistant to damage than, for example, glass. In addition, it allows for longer vapor paths in a smaller area – this is thanks to the ability to create complex, winding shapes where temperature is dissipated.
The vapor path is fully separated from the remaining electronic and mechanical components, which guarantees the purity of the inhaled vapor throughout the entire operating time of the device.
The housing is made of Ultem (PEI) – another engineering material with exceptional thermal and mechanical resistance. In this way, the internal and external components of the vaporizer are very durable.
Frolic Vaporizer – Two operating modes and precise temperature control
Limelight Frolic offers 2 heating modes that work well in different situations:
Session mode (40-220°C) – in this mode the heater maintains the set temperature throughout the session duration (1-7 minutes to choose from). The device maintains temperature between breaths, which works well with calmer, time-spaced inhalations. Session mode works best when set to lower temperatures – then the excellent taste of herbs is maintained for longer.
On-demand mode (40-240°C) – in this mode the heater is active only while holding down the button and deactivates immediately after releasing it. The herbs are not heated between breaths. We can use slightly higher temperatures here than in session mode. On-demand mode is an ideal option for people who prefer quick and intense inhalations. On-demand works great when combined with a water filter.
1°C regulation and a colorful 0.96″ OLED display allow you to control the current and set temperature at any time. An orange LED indicates heating, green color means the device is ready for a session. The device also offers vibration notifications – they can be turned off in settings.
Frolic Vaporizer – Air flow regulation 0-25 l/min
A rotating ring at the base of the mouthpiece allows smooth regulation of air flow from zero to 25 liters per minute. With limited flow, the vapor is less dense and more aromatic – a good setting for low temperatures and showcasing terpenes. With full opening, Frolic produces denser vapor compared by users to that generated by desktop or butane vaporizers.
Regardless of the selected setting, the vapor remains smooth thanks to a cooling unit with a total vapor path length exceeding 200 mm. During the most intense sessions, vapor inhalations can be too large, especially for a beginner – then it’s worth considering lowering the temperature or using a water filter or 3D cooling mouthpiece.
Frolic Vaporizer – Modular construction with replaceable battery
The Frolic vaporizer is an example of modular equipment. The device can be disassembled and assembled without tools, and each component – from the heater to the Viton seals – is available as a separate spare part. The cooling unit consists of three elements and a mouthpiece; all can be very easily cleaned through access to each part.
The Molicel P50B 21700 battery (5000 mAh) is replaceable. When the cell loses capacity after years of use, you can replace it yourself and restore the device’s original performance. You can also use several replaceable batteries in rotation – then even with intensive use throughout the day, you won’t run out of power.
The Frolic vaporizer charges via USB-C port (5 V / 2 A) and offers pass-through functionality (you can use the device while charging). A fully charged battery allows you to conduct approximately 10-15 sessions.
The Frolic vaporizer works great when combined with a water filter. To do this, you will need an additional adapter – the manufacturer does not include it in the set.
