VapCap M is a manual vaporizer by DynaVap, heated with a butane torch or an induction heater, with no battery and no electronics. On this page you will find the complete user manual for VapCap M, prepared by VapeFully. It walks you from cleaning before first use, through heating to the click, to typical problems.
What’s in the box
Inside the cardboard box you get the VapCap M itself: a stainless steel body with a mouthpiece, a chamber with its cap, and the o-rings. A torch is not included, so buy one together with the device.
To complete the setup we recommend:
- a butane torch (for example the Honest torch),
- a herb grinder (for example the Swiss Grinder Fire),
- isopropyl alcohol for cleaning (VapeCleaner),
- a herb container (VapeStash),
- a humidity control pack for your herb (Integra Boost).
First use
VapCap M needs no charging and no empty burn-off. Before the first session, though, give it a thorough clean to remove any manufacturing residue.
- Remove the chamber cap and the o-rings and set them aside.
- Soak the remaining parts in isopropyl alcohol, for example VapeCleaner.
- Wash the cap and the o-rings with soapy water only, never alcohol.
- Wait until every part is completely dry.
- Reassemble the vaporizer. From that moment it is ready to work.
Step-by-step operation
VapCap M works on demand: one heat-up gives one or two draws, then the device cools down for the next cycle. Instead of buttons and a display you have a flame, a cap and the characteristic click. We describe general inhalation technique in our guide on how to use a dry herb vaporizer correctly.
- Grind the herb finely, it will vaporize faster and more evenly.
- Pour the herb loosely into the chamber without packing it down. The chamber holds around 0.1 g, but it works fine even with crumbs.
- Put the cap on the chamber.
- Heat the lower part of the cap, level with the letter N in the DYNAVAP lettering. Keep the tip of the flame at least 1.5 cm away from the cap and rotate the vaporizer continuously in the same plane.
- When you hear the double click, pull the flame away immediately. The herb has reached vaporization temperature.
- Draw slowly through the mouthpiece. You control vapour intensity by covering the air intake on the side of the device with a finger.
- Wait for the cap to cool down and click twice again. Only then start the next heating cycle.
Using up a full chamber normally takes 3-4 heating cycles. You can speed up cooling by resting the VapCap on a magnet or another cool, heat-resistant surface.
Temperature control
You control the temperature by where you apply the flame: the further from the tip of the cap you heat, the higher the vaporization temperature. Herb vaporizes in the 170-215°C range, so find the heating spot on the cap that matches your preference. For home use pick a single-flame torch, because it gives more control. Away from home a triple-flame torch works better, heating the cap in as little as 5 seconds. An induction heater is the alternative, more discreet and faster than a flame.
Vaporizing concentrates
VapCap M copes with concentrates too. Use the DynaCoil accessory or form a small ball of degummed hemp fibre, place the concentrate inside it and load the whole thing into the chamber.
Cleaning and maintenance
After a session, empty the chamber and tap out the leftovers before the resins stick to the walls. Cleaning a VapCap is very simple: you detach the tip and drop it into isopropyl alcohol.
For a deep clean, take the device apart just like before first use. Soak the metal parts in isopropyl alcohol, and wash the cap and o-rings with soapy water only. Once every part is dry, put the vaporizer back together.
Most common problems (VapCap M)
VapCap M has no battery and no electronics, so there is nothing in it that can die. Reports of “it does not work” almost always come down to heating technique. The good news: you will master the technique within a few sessions.
No click or little vapour
The most common cause is heating too weakly or too briefly. Check your technique: flame on the lower part of the cap (the letter N in the DYNAVAP lettering), the tip of the flame at least 1.5 cm from the cap, the device in constant rotation. Little vapour from the first heat-up is normal, full extraction takes a few cycles.
The two clicks merge into one
One loud click instead of a double click means you are heating too close to the tip of the cap. Move the flame lower, towards the chamber.
Scorched herb
The rule is “respect the click”: never keep heating the cap after the click, or you will scorch the material and can damage the cap. Start the next cycle only after the double cool-down click. Scorching is a technique error, not a device defect.
When it is a case for service
A dented cap that permanently lost its click, or worn-down retention dimples, qualify the cap for replacement as a spare part rather than a claim on the whole device. The stainless steel body is practically indestructible. If you are unsure, write to us and describe the symptom.
Warranty
DynaVap covers the VapCap M with a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. It applies to the metal parts: devices, tips, stems, condensers and all caps. Wooden and glass parts are excluded. Independently of the manufacturer, you have 2 years of VapeFully shop liability and 30 days to return your purchase. You will find the claim procedure on the Returns and complaints page.
FAQ
Does the VapCap M need charging?
No. VapCap M is an analogue vaporizer with no battery and no electronics. To heat it you need a butane torch, a coil lighter or an induction heater.
What does the click in the VapCap M mean?
A double click during heating signals that vaporization temperature has been reached, so you pull the flame away and take a draw. Another double click after cooling means you can safely heat again.
How much herb does the VapCap M chamber hold?
Around 0.1 g at most. You can load any smaller amount, even crumbs, and the device will still perform well. Do not pack the herb, pour it in loosely.
Is the VapCap M suitable for concentrates?
Yes. Use a DynaCoil or a small ball of degummed hemp fibre with the concentrate inside, and place it in the chamber.
What temperature should I use in the VapCap M?
Herb vaporizes in the 170-215°C range. In the VapCap M you set the temperature by the heating spot: the further from the tip of the cap you aim the flame, the higher the temperature.
Spare parts and accessories for VapCap M
The classic VapCap M is no longer available for sale in our shop. Manuals for other devices are collected in our user manuals hub.
VapCap M is intended solely for plant-based herb and concentrates, for adults (18+). Keep the device and the torch out of the reach of children. The cap is hot after heating, so rest the vaporizer on a non-flammable surface. VapCap M is not a medical device.
