Visually, Firefly 2+ is almost no different from its predecessor. The most striking change is the replacement of the single LED light with an illuminated Firefly logo. Though the more significant changes are not visible, when you start using Firefly 2+ you will notice them immediately. First of all, the manufacturer has considerably improved the airflow, now it is 33% less restricted, which makes the inhalation very pleasant. The performance of the dynamic heating technology has been upgraded – now your flowers are more evenly vaped both with a full and only partially filled chamber (previously it had to be loosely full). The result is even better than Firefly’s second generation, which was one of the fastest-heating vaporizers at the time. This allows you to turn it on and start inhaling before most other vaporizers even begin to warm up! Thanks to such a fast heat-up time, Firefly 2+ is considered an on-demand vaporizer, ideal for quick draws, whenever it suits you best. The convection heating, short heat up and cool down time also means zero waste on plant material, as the device only activates when you inhale. You can interrupt the session at any time and finish it later, without continuing to consume your herbs.

The flavor of the vapor produced is – as in the previous generation – almost otherworldly. Perfect for flowers and concentrates

As in the previous model, it is possible to vaporize concentrates, and Firefly 2+ is one of the few dual use-vapes that can handle both materials really well. This is possible thanks to a sufficiently wide temperature range – Firefly 2+ is able to span from 93° to 260° C! Temperatures above 220° C are intended for concentrates, lower temperatures are appropriate for flowers. With every inhalation, Firefly 2+ makes use of a dynamic convection heating technology: as you draw, the air temperature is increased across a wide range of temperatures up to your set maximum. You can change the temperature settings through a smartphone app, which also shows the current battery status and offers the option to calibrate the coil (the user can adjust the time when it reaches its maximum temperature).

Better battery life

The biggest disadvantage of the first Firefly was its weak battery, but this was addressed in the second generation. Firefly 2’s battery allowed for more than double vaporization time on a single charge, which made a huge difference. Firefly 2+ uses the same battery as the second generation, but thanks to a firmware update, it allows for even longer vaporization on a single charge – in our tests it allowed for an average of 6 chamber fillings. Like in FF2, the battery is removable, but there is not a spare one in the box. The battery reaches a full charge really fast, in about 45 minutes, and it takes about 20 minutes to reach 80%.
