The AirVape Legacy is a fully convective portable dry herb vaporizer with a replaceable 18650 battery, a glass vapour path and a chamber plated with 24-carat gold. On this page you will find the complete user manual for AirVape Legacy, prepared by VapeFully. It takes you from the first start-up, through the on demand mode and temperature settings, to cleaning and the most common problems.
What’s in the box
The manufacturer packs an unusually generous set of accessories. In the box with the AirVape Legacy you will find:
- the AirVape Legacy vaporizer with an 18650 battery,
- a USB-C cable,
- a gold microdosing insert,
- a concentrate pad,
- spare gold mouthpiece screens,
- a spare screen for the bottom of the chamber,
- a spare lid gasket,
- cleaning sticks,
- alcohol-soaked wipes,
- tweezers.
There is no spare stirring tool or second battery in the box. A spare 18650 cell can be bought separately and swapped yourself, without sending the device to a service centre.
First use
Before you pack the first chamber, complete three steps: a full charge, cleaning and an empty burn-off. This removes factory residue from the chamber and the vapour path.
- Charge the battery to full with the included USB-C cable.
- Wipe the chamber, the mouthpiece and the vapour path with the wipes and a cotton bud soaked in isopropyl alcohol (ISO).
- Set the highest temperature and run the device with an empty chamber.
- Repeat a few heating cycles until the factory smell stops coming out of the chamber.
The burn-off after cleaning also evaporates any remaining alcohol. Only then should you pack the chamber with herbs.
Step-by-step operation
The Legacy vaporizes herbs using a stream of hot air only, so technique matters more here than in conduction devices. The general rules of inhalation are covered in our guide on how to use a vaporizer correctly.
- Grind your herbs to a medium consistency. Herbs ground to dust and packed tightly will block the airflow.
- Fill the chamber and tamp the contents lightly, keeping the airflow free. There is a recess around the chamber, so load it over a container, ideally with a herb scoop.
- Turn the device on with three clicks of the main button.
- Set the temperature with the adjustment buttons. You have a range of 93-226°C in one-degree steps.
- Take long, calm and even draws. The first draw tends to be gentle, the following ones deliver noticeably more vapour.
- Halfway through the session, stir the herbs in the chamber so the extraction is even. Scrape any material stuck to the lid back into the chamber.
- After the session, wait for the chamber to cool down, then empty it and remove the leftovers.
The device switches off automatically after 3 minutes. You can change the session length by pressing the main button and the temperature-up button at the same time: the options are 3, 5 or 10 minutes.
On demand mode and changing the temperature unit
Besides the classic session, the Legacy has an on demand mode in which the heater works only before and during a draw. You start it by pressing both temperature adjustment buttons at the same time.
If the display shows degrees Fahrenheit, press the main button and the temperature-down button at the same time. The device will switch between °F and °C.
Temperatures, concentrates and technical data
From experience: the AirVape Legacy works best at high temperatures, around 220°C. At settings around 190°C there is little vapour, so do not start your session too low. For concentrates, use the included pad and the highest temperature setting.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Heating system | full convection |
| Temperature range | 93-226°C |
| Session length | 3, 5 or 10 minutes |
| Automatic shut-off | after 3 minutes |

Cleaning and maintenance
Remove leftover herbs from the chamber after every session. The Legacy collects resin faster than most vaporizers and can gum up after as little as two sessions, so regularity makes all the difference here.
For a deep clean, take the device apart: remove the mouthpiece, the glass vapour path and the battery. Wipe the interior with the wipes and the chamber with a cotton bud soaked in isopropyl alcohol, holding the device upside down. This stops the dirt from running deeper into the housing.
All parts except the rubber ones can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol. Wash the gaskets in warm water with washing-up liquid, rinse them and dry them thoroughly before reassembly.
After cleaning, run a burn-off at the highest temperature with an empty chamber. This clears the remaining alcohol out of the vapour path.
Most common problems (AirVape Legacy)
Little vapour or no effect
The most common cause is a temperature set too low. At around 190°C the Legacy does not produce meaningful vapour yet, so raise the setting to around 220°C. Check the pack as well: herbs ground to dust or packed hard block the airflow in a convection device.
Herbs vaporize unevenly
This is a trait of the design, not a fault. Stir the herbs in the chamber halfway through the session and scrape any bits stuck to the lid back in. Without stirring, part of the material stays green while part overheats.
Hard draw, device gummed up with resin
Remove the glass vapour path and the gold screens and soak them in isopropyl alcohol, because that is where the resin builds up. If the draw is still blocked after a full clean, contact us before taking the device apart any further.
Wireless charging keeps cutting out
A known issue with this model: the device can lose its connection to an induction charger. Charge it via USB-C, which is the more reliable route. If the Legacy will not charge over the cable either, report it for a warranty claim.
Battery does not last long
A full cell gives about 90 minutes of use and its capacity naturally drops over time. In the Legacy you replace just the 18650 battery instead of the whole device, so buy a branded, protected cell. If a new device dies after a few minutes, that is grounds for a warranty claim.
Chamber lid becomes loose
The lid can wear over time and stop holding firmly. If it no longer closes the chamber properly, write to us and describe the problem. We will assess whether it is normal wear or a defect eligible for a claim.
Warranty
AirVape Legacy complaints are handled by VapeFully under the shop’s 24-month responsibility, counted from the delivery of the device. You also have 30 days to return your order. The full procedure for faults and returns is described on the Returns and complaints page.
