PURIZE – what sets the brand apart

PURIZE kicked off the slim-size activated carbon filter, and that’s what made the name. The idea is simple: instead of a plain cardboard tip, you slot in an activated carbon insert that catches part of the tar and the substances produced while the herb burns.

PURIZE gear is mostly for people who smoke joints and don’t plan to give that up, but want to do it smarter: cooler smoke, a cleaner taste of the herb and less throat irritation. It’s not vaporizing equipment – these are accessories for a traditional joint, treated as a less taxing alternative to smoking without any filter.

The PURIZE range breaks down into three simple groups: filters, rolling papers and storage. Here’s a quick rundown of what does what.

XTRA Slim carbon filters

This is the core of the brand. Activated carbon inserts around 5.9-6 mm in diameter, most often chosen for slim joints. They trap part of the tar and combustion by-products, so the smoke is cooler and the taste of the herb comes through more clearly. Available in packs from 10 pieces (a few pounds, just to try) up to boxes of 100 and 250, which work out cheapest per filter.

There’s also a Conical version and a longer XTRA Long Size (40 mm) for anyone who prefers a longer filter and more travel for the smoke.

Rolling papers and cones

PURIZE rolling papers come in King Size Slim: unbleached, brown, plus the coloured Pink and Rainbow series. There are also Pre-Rolled Cones with a carbon filter already built in, if you’d rather not roll from scratch, and papers on a roll (Rolls), where you simply unwind as much as you need. Herb storage

Airtight PopUp containers keep your herb from drying out and lock the smell inside, while the Jointtube is a discreet case for a single joint. They work just as well for other herbs. You’ll find more options in the herb storage section.

What to look at when choosing PURIZE accessories

Most of the decisions come down to the filters – the rest is a matter of taste and how much you smoke.

Filter diameter and length

The PURIZE standard is XTRA Slim at around 5.9-6 mm – it fits most slim joints and King Size Slim papers. If you roll thicker ones or want more travel for the smoke, go for the Long Size or Conical version. It’s worth matching the diameter to your papers so the filter doesn’t slip out and sits snugly.

Pack size

If you’re just checking whether carbon filters are for you, grab the 10-piece pack. Smoke regularly? Boxes of 100 or 250 are clearly cheaper per filter and last a long time.

Filter or vaporizing

A carbon filter cuts down contact with part of the combustion by-products, but smoke still forms because the herb burns. If you want to smoke without burning the herb, the real change is a dry herb vaporizer – the device heats the herb instead of burning it. PURIZE filters and a vaporizer are two different leagues: one improves the joint, the other changes the method itself.
