Adapters are glass elements with GonG (Glass-on-Glass) joints that are made entirely of glass. They let you connect elements that normally don’t match, e.g. a water filter adapter with a 14,5 diameter and a bong with an 18 mm joint. Similarly, if you have e.g. a female type (concave) adapter and a bong with a female cut (also concave), you can connect them if you use the right adapter. Usually, the cheaper solution is to get the right adapter rather than buy a new bong or a water filter.
