A herb tray is a flat work surface where you grind your herbs, pack a vaporizer chamber or roll a joint without scattering material all over the table.
Before you choose one, think about how you will use it. Metal is easier to clean and slips into a backpack, wood or bamboo looks better on a desk, and a tray with compartments and a lid keeps your papers, filters and grinder together in one place. We stock all of these, from pocket-sized to large at-home models.
Which herb tray should you choose?
Trays differ mainly in material, size and whether they have extra compartments or a lid. Those three things decide whether the tray fits the way and the place you work with your herbs.
Material mostly affects cleaning and looks. Size depends on how much herb you handle and where you use the tray. Compartments and magnetic lids come in handy when you want to keep a whole kit in one spot: a grinder, rolling papers and filters.
| If you care about… | Look for… |
|---|---|
| easy cleaning | metal trays – smooth surface, resistant to isopropyl alcohol |
| portability | pocket trays and small metal ones that fit in a bag |
| use at home | large trays (over 30 cm), more room for herbs and accessories |
| keeping everything in one place | trays with compartments, a lid or a 2-in-1 storage box |
| looks on your desk | wooden and bamboo trays – they need gentler cleaning |
At VapeFully we test accessories before they go into the range – we check whether the edges actually keep the herb in place, whether the surface cleans up easily and whether the tray holds up to daily use. That is how we know which model works for a quick session away from home and which one suits an unhurried prep at your desk.
Metal trays
The most practical choice for everyday use. The smooth, hard surface makes it easy to scoop up the herb, and metal handles cleaning with isopropyl alcohol without any trouble once resin builds up on it. The range includes classic RAW trays in several sizes as well as versions with a matching lid that closes the tray and protects what is inside.
Wooden and bamboo trays
The pick for people who care about looks and natural texture. Wood and bamboo sit well on a desk, and some models have built-in storage for accessories – like a 2-in-1 bamboo box with a tray. Keep in mind that wood is not meant to be soaked in water. You clean it with a damp cloth and, every now and then, it is worth wiping the surface with a little natural oil.
Trays with compartments and for rolling
If you roll joints alongside prepping herbs for your vaporizer, trays with separate compartments and a lid are a good fit. They let you keep the herb apart from papers and filters, and the higher edges hold the material in place. It is a handy setup when you want your whole session kit within reach, in one spot.
What to look at before you buy
A tray is a simple accessory, but a few features genuinely affect how comfortable it is to use.
Size
Small trays (about 18 x 14 cm) travel in a backpack, medium ones (about 27 x 16 cm) strike a balance between portability and space, and large ones (over 30 cm) give you the most room for herbs and accessories at home. Match the size to the amount of herb you usually work with.
Material and cleaning
Metal is the easiest to clean – warm water with a mild detergent, and isopropyl alcohol for stubborn resin (such as a dedicated cleaning product), after which you rinse the tray with water and dry it. Wood calls for care: no soaking, just a wipe with a damp cloth and the occasional layer of oil.
Edges and compartments
Higher, well-shaped edges keep the herb on the tray and make it easier to sweep the bits back into the grinder or vaporizer chamber. Compartments and a magnetic lid are useful if you want to keep a permanent set of accessories on the tray.
Choose your herb tray at VapeFully
The range includes RAW trays in many versions – metal, bamboo, pocket trays with a grater card, large rolling trays with compartments and a lid – plus the dedicated PAX Prep Tray for prepping herbs. That way you can pick a tray to match how you use it: on the go for a quick session, or for an unhurried prep at home.
A tray is worth pairing with the rest of your kit. We also stock vaporization accessories, grinders, rolling papers and filters, and if you are just starting out – a full range of dry herb vaporizers. As always, if you are not sure what to choose, we will help you match the gear and accessories to the way you use your herbs.
