What NOT to use for storing vaporization herbs? 🌿

Let’s start by answering the question of what not to use for storing herbs and dried herbs for vaporization. First and foremost, plastic is unsuitable for storing herbs. Why?

Plastic containers (including plastic bags or aluminium foil) not only fail to provide the proper protection for the herbs but can also react with the cannabinoids and other active ingredients in the herbs. This includes the interaction of terpenes with oxygen.

Another material that is not well-suited for storing herbs is paper. Paper packaging does not provide adequate protection against moisture. As a result, herbs can become excessively dry – making them unsuitable for inhalation or making the experience less pleasant and effective.

On the other hand, paper packaging can cause herbs to become overly damp – for example, if the paper container is stored in a place exposed to moisture. So, paper is not suitable for storing dried herbs.

And what about wood?

A wooden container is not the best way to store dried herbs, but it is certainly a better solution than plastic or paper. However, a wooden container may not always protect vaporization herbs from moisture or loss of aroma.

📦 What makes an ideal container for storing herbs?

A good container for storing dried herbs should meet several conditions. Here are the most important ones:

  • It must be 100% airtight to prevent the herbs from losing their aroma and to protect them from adverse external factors.
  • It should be glass or made of another material that does not react with cannabinoids and other active ingredients in the dried herbs.
  • It must be opaque to protect the dried herbs from sunlight.
  • Humidity inside the container should be around 62% to ensure the herbs are perfect for inhalation.

So, the question arises: which container should you choose for your dried herbs to ensure optimal moisture levels, avoid reactions with active ingredients, and provide airtight storage?

How to properly store herbs for vaporization? 🍃

Now it’s time to answer how to store plant material so that it retains its properties and aroma. Our suggested setup for storing plant material combines VapeStash and Integra sachets.

VapeStash is a modern herb container designed to provide optimal conditions for plant material. What distinguishes the VapeStash herb container? It’s a dual-chamber container, allowing you to have two types of herbs without mixing them.

Of course, the container meets all the above conditions – it is 100% airtight and made from material that blocks sunlight. Importantly, both herb chambers have a glass insert, ensuring the herbs’ flavour remains unchanged.

As for Integra Boost sachets for dried herbs, they are notable for not containing salt – unlike popular Boveda sachets. This is important because salt can adversely affect some active ingredients, particularly terpenes, causing them to degrade.

And it’s the terpenes that are responsible for the unique aroma of dried herbs! Integra Boost sachets for dried herbs are of better quality than the Boveda product. They help maintain optimal humidity levels, and their price is more favourable.

A KERR jar with a humidity control kit also works well. This is a professional solution for storing plant material. The jar is equipped with a metal lid and a special basket for mounting the Integra sachet. Importantly, the set ensures 62% relative humidity inside the jar.

Storing dried herbs for vaporization in plastic containers can lead to loss of aroma and active ingredient quality. Therefore, it’s worth choosing a container that provides the right conditions, such as VapeStash or a KERR jar with a humidity control kit, to enjoy the full potential of inhalation.
