710 – International Dabbing and Concentrate Vaporization Day
July 10 – or 10/7 – is celebrated as International Dabbing Day, which is also called Oil Day or Dabs Day. Concentrate enthusiasts certainly know this date and celebrate on July 10.
What exactly is the connection between the number 710 and cannabis? Well, it’s very simple. If you turn the number 710 upside down, it will look like the word OIL – which means oil. It’s worth noting here that in the USA, the term “oil” is often used collectively to describe all concentrates.
There isn’t such a rich history here as in the case of 420, and the holiday itself is relatively new. The first information about 710 appeared recently, in 2013. Then the 7/10 CUP competition was organized. It involved testing concentrates from cannabis. However, given that concentrates are becoming increasingly popular, the 710 holiday will certainly become more and more well-known.
Cannabis concentrates – what is it?
CBD and CBG Concentrates are extracts, that is, extracted from flowers – in the form in which the plant naturally occurs – cannabinoids. Concentrates can contain various cannabinoids, for example CBD – in very high concentration, reaching even 99%. CBD is a fully legal substance.
Various types of concentrates are available on the market. Some come in the form of yellow-gold crystals, others can have the form of larger crystals or honey consistency. In stores you can find pure isolates, as well as terpssolates – that is, concentrates enriched with natural terpenes.
What is dabbing?
At this point you’ve probably already guessed what dabbing is. Well, you could say that dabbing is the vaporization of concentrates. It involves placing a small amount of concentrate on the heated surface of a device, for example in the chamber of a vaporizer, and then inhaling the vapor produced from the evaporation of the concentrate.
Using a small amount of extract, which immediately evaporates when in contact with a very heated surface, is a good way to deliver yourself a huge portion of active ingredients in a very short time.
The vapor obtained when using concentrate is, among other things, very rich in terpenes, which are known for their intense aroma. That’s exactly why dabbing is so popular – it’s a way to get incredibly aromatic, pure vapor, which at the same time is a wealth of valuable active ingredients.
However, the high cannabinoid content is also important, usually exceeding 70%. Concentrate users – both recreational and medical – appreciate concentrates primarily for their speed of action, because thanks to high concentrations of active substances, just 1-2 inhalations are enough to achieve the desired effect.
How to vaporize concentrates?
There are many methods of using concentrates, however – as with dried herb – the best and most effective will be vaporization. It is important to choose a device that allows you to use concentrates.
Mixing concentrate with dried herb
One of the more primitive methods can be mixing concentrate with dried herb. Simply place a thin layer of dried herb in the chamber, add a small amount of concentrate on top, and then another layer of dried herb. Thanks to this, the concentrate will be absorbed into the dried herb and will evaporate from it.
Unfortunately, the downside of this solution is the need to set an appropriate temperature for dried herb, which will not allow full utilization of the concentrate, or a temperature for the concentrate. Then unfortunately the temperature will be too high for the dried herb, which will negatively affect its taste.
Vaporizer with concentrate inhalation option
A good solution will be choosing a vaporizer that allows you to use concentrates without using dried herb. As a rule, such devices are equipped with small adapters or small pads in which you can place the concentrate and then put it in the heating chamber. It is important that the device allows you to set a very high temperature.
If you plan to use concentrates, a good choice will be vaporizers from the DynaVap brand. VapCaps really handle concentrates well. Of course, a Dynacoil concentrate adapter or cleaned hemp fiber will be necessary – the concentrate must have something to evaporate from.
