X-MAX V3 Pro – Glass Water Pipe Adapter

This one came as a bit of a surprise, compared to the original V3 Pro mouthpiece.

It has four elements – the body, the silicon gasket, the metal mesh, and the glass stem.

THE POSITIVES:

The body is made of metal, very closely similar to the body of the vaporizer, but just a tiny shade off in color. It’s quite a bit heavier than the body on the original mouthpiece (15g vs. 5g), but feels very sturdy and in my opinion, looks better.

The magnets are on the inner side of the contact surface, visible only when the body is dissembled, making for a sleeker look.

The silicon gasket is much larger than on the original, essentially filling the entirety of the body. It’s removed by pulling it up from the body, most easily by grasping the stem. It’s otherwise firmly in place.

It holds both the metal mesh and the glass stem, and allows the stem to freely rotate and bend somewhat at the joint.

The glass stem is easily pulled out from the gasket by holding the gasket firmly and rotating the stem to the side. There is plenty of clearance for cleaning both the gasket and stem with a cotton swab.

The metal mesh seems to get gunked up slower than with the original.

The stem interfaces well with a bubbler, and the piece stands firmly when in vertical position, without the need for holding it.

I haven’t tried the true glass attachment for V3 yet, but I’ve tried vaping directly with this piece, and it does have a better, more intense taste than the original mouthpiece, and the glass gets only mildly warm during a session.

THE NEGATIVES:

The metal mesh part looks less durable than the original. It has a closed design, so you can clean only the outer part with a swab. For full cleaning, you need to do the soak and shake.

The whole piece weighs 30g compared to the 12g of the original mouthpiece. In my opinion, with the quality increase, and just the presence of glass, this is justified.

THE CONCLUSION:

It’s a higher quality attachment compared to the original mouthpiece, can stand in for a glass piece attachment in a pinch, and does its job well. One minor negative aspect is the closed nature of its metal element.

Having a vaporizer that you can use discreetly while you’re out and be ready for water filtration with just a snap of a magnet is great. Well worth the price!
